Senior Account Manager

At A Small Orange, we have many large, juicy accounts in need of some attention. We’re looking for someone who can help build solid relationships with top customers, leverage our partnerships to benefit customers, and help grow our existing customers into big orange whales.

What you’ll do:

  • Reach out to our top customers on a regular basis via phone, email, and chat.
  • Find additional needs our customers have that we can fill.
  • Quote existing customers on a variety of products and services, standard packages, including SEO Web Hosting services, custom dedicated servers, consulting and technical services, and more.
  • Walk customers through the order process and then follow-up at a later time to ensure their needs are taken care.
  • Educate our customers on any new products, services, and partnerships we may offer.
  • Facilitate our Preferred Customer Program by notifying customers as they qualify, making sure they receive the appropriate benefits and continually moving customers to higher levels by growing their monthly spend.

Basics - what you need to be:

  • Customer-focused and willing to go well out of your way to make customers happy. Going above and beyond is the standard at A Small Orange.
  • Excellent at communicating professionally and quickly over the phone, email, and chat.
  • Technical enough to be comfortable using proprietary billing and user management scripts and to talk about our variety of technical product and services.
  • Able to understand customer needs and desires and suggest products and services that help address them.
  • Detail-orientated and good at following up.
  • Self-motivated, highly competitive, and able to sell (this is a sales job after all!).
  • Experience working in sales roles especially as an account manager.

Bonus – we’d love it if you were, but not a necessity:

  • Experience working for a web host or with web hosting products and services.
  • Basic technical knowledge of web hosting technologies (servers, control panels, etc.).
  • Basic knowledge of online marketing including SEO, SEM, affiliate marketing, Google Analytics, etc.


This position pays a base, plus a competitive commission package. It also includes A Small Orange’s standard (and very good) benefits package. Local candidates are preferred, but A Small Orange is open to hiring qualified people regardless of where they live.
